Want to be happier? Do things you don’t want to do

Want to be happier? Do at least one thing you don’t want to do everyday. Yes, you read right. I believe doing something you don’t want to do can make you happier.

You may not want to do the dishes- do them anyway. You may not want to fold the laundry- do it anyway. You may not want to be kind to your enemy- be kind anyway. You may not want to pray- pray anyway.

By doing things we don’t want to do we can make small, daily sacrifices. We can offer these actions for a special intention and chisel away at our flaws.

Late Saturday night it snowed about 3 inches. On our way back from church Sunday morning D and I did a 180, slammed into the curb, and continued on our way home. The roads didn’t look that bad, but it only takes 2 seconds and your realize they’re more slippery than you thought. Thankful to be alive and unscathed!

Yesterday we didn’t want to risk another 360 on ice so D stayed home. We enjoyed being lazy together and eating cookies all day.

Today I have been enjoying one of my last days of laziness for the rest of the foreseeable future. Classes resume on Monday. Then graduation in May. Keeping my eye on the prize and May can’t come soon enough!
